Bubble Chaser

Start of one of my armies

So I finally got around to getting a model put together and what not, so here are some WIP photos.

So when I decided to start this back up I had to pick an army to get into since I had sold everything. I decided to give Retribution of Scyrah from Privateer Presses Warmachine a go. My first model is the Phoenix Heavy 'Jack. I'll continue to add more and more and I will eventually branch into Hordes with either Gators or Pigs.

Anyways, my scheme is going to be green highlighted to a yellow with silver accents for this Warjack... the army will share the green for most of the armor and capes but with variations to accessories and what not to kind of give a little uniqueness to each model/unit.

So here it is:

Retribution of Scyrah Phoenix ... Sorry for the horrible pictures ... I couldn't seem to find my desk lamps that I used to use to take pictures out of this light box (probably threw them out too) and I couldn't get my gradient back ground printed either so the pics are very meh.

So there you have it. Once I find what I did with
the lights I will be able to take some better pictures and than also get some pictures up of what I have done recently.

Have Fun!

Welcome!

Hey everyone,

Welcome to a bubble chasers leak. Let me give you a little back ground info about how this all got started. My hobbies have been wide spread, they included shooting rifles and pistols to reloading ammo for rifles and pistols to paintball and miniatures. I slowly fell out of shooting guns and playing paintball due to my ADD and so I was left with miniatures. Miniatures have been a part of my life for a long time, even before high school...I would spend hours painting, converting, and playing with these miniatures. However as I got older and my ADD gets worse (life gets in the way too) I slowly fell into a rut where I would never finish anything I started. My wife noticed this and it slowly made her dislike my one remaining hobby. In order to convince her to let me continue this one hobby I had to agree to some ground rules. 1st off I couldn't get new miniatures until the ones I had were done. 2nd I couldn't ignore the family. And lastly I had to justify my spending, I couldn't spend 300 dollars on miniatures I would never use for instance. Well I was going good for a little while but than I started breaking the rules. Mainly the first one, I would buy a mini when I had the cash and it would sit on the shelf for months than get sold off on ebay as a NIB mini discounted to 30% off retail. So in the end my hobby took a turn for the worst and I ended up not doing them anymore at all. I packed up my paints and supplies, sold off all the miniatures I had and threw away those that were too mangled to sell. With it all gone I continued in life just working, working, and more working ... didn't really do much other than that...the occasional date with the wife or hanging out with friends ... Football season was always a blast as I am a huge Green Bay Packer fan, life was great but I always felt something was missing; my minis. Yeah yeah anyone reading this may think that I am a nerd or a dork but I still remember the first miniature kit I received as a boy and even though I stopped doing this hobby it has always been an important part of my life and I have always longed to want to get back into it.

Well fast forward 3 years or so and after convincing (wasn't easy) my wife, I'm back. The rules above are still in place and so far I have been following them. However I was thinking of ways to keep me on track and remembered that what kept me going when I first started miniatures was showing everyone my models and conversion ideas. It was really nice being one of a handful of people that had full painted armies and getting both good and constructive criticism on paint jobs and conversions. Since there isn't a local gaming store near my house I thought I would run a blog, in order to keep myself on track I could post up WIP pictures and other happenings with my hobby.

So in this blog you will find posts about my re entering into the world of Table Top Miniature Wargaming, my adventures with modeling, painting, and playing again. So leave me comments if you like, other wise I invite you to follow me along my journey to actually settling down and finishing things for once.
